WISE WORDS FROM DUMB DONALD

The Fat Albert movie came on TV this week. In the movie, the cast of the Fat Albert cartoon, came out of the TV and wound up in real world Philadelphia.

Fat Albert is a hero type character, in a cartoon series, that Bill Cosby developed in the 70’s, Fat Albert and the Cosby kids.

Fat Albert protects the weak and stands up for what is right. He is virtuous, Kind, Considerate, and Athletic too.

One of the characters in the show is Dumb Donald.

During their real world adventure, the characters had all sorts of human fun, they discovered new things about themselves and the world that they found themselves in.

They also began to lose their color, they were fading away.

During their adventure, Dumb Donald got smart: In response to their dilemma, Donald said “ I have become smart enough to realize that we are fading away, we have entered into a world in which we do not belong. When you try to become someone other than who you are, you lose the essence of your true identity.

The lesson that I learned from this is be true to yourself. Be the best you, that you can be. Don’t change who truly are to fit into someone else’s box.

That is not to say don’t try to improve yourself, where improvement is needed. Just don’t lose who you are.
